The drawing course can suit everyone from beginners to intemediate stage. You can learn and experiment using both traditional and contemporary approaches to drawing.
The course will propose original and intriguing projects on still life, interior, figure, portrait and landscape. The emphasis will be on observational drawing and you will be taught how to observe and draw line and tone using different materials and techniques. Each week will focus on a particular drawing technique or material and teaching will involve examples from art history, practical experience, exchanging ideas and experience with others, individual tuition and supportive group critiques. The materials are going to be pencils, charcoal, pen and ink and pastels. The mark making techniques will involve drawing around the form, continuous line and hatching. You will be encouraged to collaborate through the exercises with others and supplement the course with your ideas. Once a month we will visit a park or a museum to draw on site.
The drawing course will last 3 months. The price is £15 per lesson including the materials or £44 if you book 4 lessons.
The lessons take place at the Brent Artists Resource 4-5 Queens Parade, Walm Lane, London NW2 5HT, every Thursday 18.00-19.45 starting from the 16th of April. One Thursday every month we will visit a museum/park.
The first lesson is free.
