252 Pieces Table 2010
Furniture Design in Collaboration with Carpenter Vassilis Nymfiadis
The goal of this project was to minimise wood waste by reusing leftover pieces of wood. We utilised cross-sections from various types of wood.
Some of the wood types we used include: beech, oak, Oregon pine, iroko, walnut, red oak, pitch pine, sipo, ash, niagon, poplar, and mahogany.
We constructed only two desks because the process was lengthy and challenging. Each desk measures 76 x 108 x 84 cm, and the tabletops consist of 252 pieces of 6 x 6 cross-cut wood cubes.
